Annual Parish Meeting 2007
David Livingstone, Chairman of the Parish Council with Pete Winkelman at the Annual Parish Meeting
Those who were fortunate to be present at the Annual Parish meeting on Wednesday 18th April were treated to a presentation to be remembered.

Pete Winkelman, Chief Executive of the MK Dons and ambassador for Milton Keynes gave an inspirational talk. His enthusiasm for Milton Keynes and his desire to see it kept as it was originally conceived was palpable. He spoke powerfully and amusingly about his vision for the stadium being built at Denbigh, part of the complex which includes Asda and Ikea . The stadium will not only be the home for MK Dons but also a multipurpose sports, conference and exhibition facility to rival anything in Europe. It has been designed to be attractive not only to the die-hard fans, but also to families of all ages.

One of his ambitions is to bring as many youngsters as possible to the game of football and he spoke with so much fervour about the Dons Academy for children from the age of 8. Even those of us who know nothing of the sport (and there are some!) found his talk riveting.

Sadly, the meeting was poorly attended and those who stayed away missed a treat.
