PARISH WARDENS- MARK WEBBER & SIMON WELLS
A Wardens job is to be the eyes and ears of the Parish Council on the ground.
They regularly patrol the grid squares and are easily recognisable in their uniforms with the Parish Council name and logo, so keep an eye open for them. If you have a problem, comment or want to pass on information, Mark and Simon are there to help, so please make use of their services. You can contact Mark on 07970902357 or Simon on 07792480899 or alternative via email

PARISH WARDENS REPORT November 2011

Problem Log
During November 47 items were added to the problem log 2011 taking the total to 789.  15 items remain to be completed (14 long term, 1 from last month).  As normal, the majority were found whilst on patrol in the Parish and during weekly checks on play parks, waste and dog bins and other hotspots within the area.  The remaining items were reported by residents.

Incomplete items
There are now only 3 damaged street name signs that need replacing and a few that are faded.  We will continue to try and get these replaced and continue to chase the other incomplete items.

Around the Parish
Simon and I have safely removed several large branches that have snapped during strong winds at Furzton and Shenley Brook End Pond area. We have also been cleaning Graffiti off some lamp posts.  Whilst doing this sometimes the paint comes off or the graffiti doesn’t in which cases so we paint lamp posts to head height which has made a big improvement.  The paint was provided by MKC.

Allotment Work
We have been quite busy with allotment work again this month but there should only be minimal work left on allotments during the winter months. The final piles of rubbish were removed by Serco after we cleared plots 123, 122, 142, and 143 at Windmill Hill last month; these have now have new tenants.

The water has been turned off at all sites for the winter period and will turn it back on in March/April 2012 and the big gate at Windmill Hill has also been closed for the winter period unless the hut is open at weekends for a few hours.  This is to protect the ridings from vehicle damage during the winter and seemed very successful last winter.

Combination locks have now been fitted on 6 sites and chains have been welded to each padlock so that we can secure each padlock to the gates.

Plot 11 at Wimborne Crescent has been strimmed ready for the soil from the mound to put on the plot.
