PARISH WARDENS- MARK WEBBER & SIMON WELLS
A Wardens job is to be the eyes and ears of the Parish Council on the ground.
They regularly patrol the grid squares and are easily recognisable in their uniforms with the Parish Council name and logo, so keep an eye open for them. If you have a problem, comment or want to pass on information, Mark and Simon are there to help, so please make use of their services. You can contact Mark on 07970902357 or Simon on 07792480899 or alternative via email

PARISH WARDENS REPORT JUNE 2010

During the Month of June 2010, the problem log was increased by 51 items bringing the total so far this year to 216, this now leaves 9 items left to be completed (this comprises of 6 long term items and 3 items left from last month).   The majority of these additional items are what we have found whilst patrolling the streets in the Parish and whilst carrying out weekly checks on play parks, waste/dog bins and other problem hotspots within the area, the remaining items have been reported directly to me from residents around the Parish.

Finally after 17 months the sunken bricks around a utility point on Gunver Lane, Tattenhoe have finally been repaired! Thank you to any Councillors who may have helped get this repaired. We are still chasing up the incomplete items such as graffiti at White Horse Drive Play Park and a large crack in the path at Oakridge, Furzton still haven’t been  There also numerous pot holes around the parish which still have not been completed but obviously we are aware that MK Council have an increased workload with regards to repairs.

There have also been the issues which people have reported to us or we have found, i.e. items include broken glass, litter, dumped newspapers, trolleys and graffiti around the parish. We have either removed the item or informed the appropriate people.

Allotment Work

The allotments have been keeping us extremely busy this month.  Simon and I have strimmed various plots at Windmill Hill and Maybach Court Allotments.  The  plots  have now been re-let,  we have also trimmed the bushes near the gate after receiving complaints about someone getting scratched as the bushes were so overgrown.

All of  our usual monthly checks at all allotment sites have now been completed and non cultivation letters have been issued.  We have had a fairly good response and the majority of people are now working their plots or explained why they haven’t been able to.

Simon and Andy Ridgway (youth worker) also removed quite a lot of rubbish from one of the allotment sites where people had been putting rubbish on a tenants plot.

I attended an allotment training course with Carole McMillan (Deputy Clerk) which was very informative and highlighted a few items that we were unaware that we should be doing. These items have now implemented such as having an allotment site map on the notice boards and various laws.

Other jobs around the Parish

We have also been dealing with other issues around the parish such as lost/stray dogs and explaining to owners that dogs should always be on leads in children's play parks.   We have reported to Milton Keynes Council a large, potentially hazardous, rope hanging down from a tree at Edison Square which was too high up for us to reach.

We received a complaint from an elderly lady about overgrown bushes in a car parking area on Furzton.  This is an area where the residents around the car park are supposed to maintain the area but as it had got so overgrown no one was going to take responsibility for it so Simon and I removed most of the overgrown bush and low branches from the tree.  More that could have been done but there were 2 cars parked there and if we had tried to strim the grass we might have scratched the cars so I will contact the owner of the house to see if they can do the rest. The resident has said that she will be able to keep it under control when the bushes have been cut back.

We look forward to continuing to tackle any issues around the Parish and we really appreciate residents contacting us about areas which are affecting them and that are of particular importance to them.

It is always nice to see residents take pride in our wonderful Parish.
