ALCOHOL CONTROL
We are pleased to announce that the Parish wide Alcohol control Order has been confirmed!
In the past 3 years we have obtained a number of Orders from Milton Keynes Council (under the Criminal Justice & Police Act 2001) giving the police power to prevent excessive consumption of alcohol in specified areas of the parish. These orders have been in reaction to events and have involved time and expense in seeking protection for the majority of law-abiding citizens.

The law on control areas has changed and we are now in discussions with Milton Keynes Council to extend Drinking Control Areas to cover the entire parish, from H6 Childs Way in the north to H8 Standing Way in the south and from V4 Watling Street to the western boundary of the borough. We have clearly demarcated boundaries that make the establishment of such control areas much easier. There will be benefits in having a single Order, which will also be more cost effective to introduce.

If the police believe that drinking may lead to anti-social behaviour and annoyance to the public, this order will allow them to confiscate the beverages and order offenders to leave the area. The Order also gives police powers of arrest and fines can be imposed. It is aimed at the unruly element and enables the police to deal with disturbances in a straightforward manner. It does not restrict the right of law-abiding citizens to consume alcohol at picnics or walking through the parish, but not causing any disturbance.
